Dear Scanna,
Before using your services, I had been a divorced father
and single parent of three children for a number of years. After my
divorce, it took me a little while to work up the courage to go out on my
first date, after which I didn’t date again for the next 13 months. I’ve
known about your service all along, but still I tried all of the more
conventional dating methods. Being a black man, I was a little
apprehensive about using Scanna. I was afraid that it may (like a lot of
things in America) cater only to the white middle or upper class American
male. I soon realized that my worries were unfounded.
I requested a number of addresses from your company but I
did not find my wife the first responses I received - it took me until the
second response. I wrote to a lady in Germany for a short time but things
just didn’t work out. After lots of prayer and thoughts of giving up, I
received a letter that very same day from Ying (Yin—her catalog number was
80-K47). Her first letter was worth more to me than all of the letters
that I had gotten from Germany. It seemed that we were a match. After
months of corresponding and phone calls, I traveled to China to get
married.
I had been to Germany, Korea, Japan and Canada while in the
military but never before had I been so accepted as I was in China. This
was the first time that I was in a foreign country without the refuge of a
U.S. military base. The people treated me like a movie star.
It took Yin and I a little time to complete all the
paperwork, then we were married. For our honeymoon, we took a train
through the countryside and visited Yin’s relatives. I also got a lovely
six year old daughter out of the deal.
I thank God that I found my new wife and daughter, and I
also thank you, Scanna, for your help. Now we just pray that we can serve
God while growing old together.
